Vantage Point Technology complained Microsoft, Amazon.com and 10 other companies for patent infringement
On Nov. 1, 2013, Vantage Point Technology, Inc. filed a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas accusing Microsoft Corporation, Amazon.com Inc., ASUS Computer International, Barnes & Noble, Inc., Broadcom Corp., Freescale Semiconductor, Inc., Hisense USA Corporation, HTC America, Inc., Huawei Device USA, Inc., Kyocera International, Inc., Lenovo (United States) Inc., andLG Electronics USA, Inc. for infringing a patent (US5,463,750) titled “Method and apparatus for translating virtual addresses in a data processing system having multiple instruction.”
The inventor of US5,463,750 is Howard G. Sachs. '750 is assigned to Intergraph Corporation, filed on 11/2/1993, and granted on 10/31/1995. '750 relates to a computing system having multiple instruction pipelines, wherein one or more pipelines require translating virtual addresses to real addresses.
US5,463,750 has no any equivalent Japanese application nor any family members in other languages. IPC subclasses cited in '750 include G06F12/10 and G06F9/38. In a JPO search using search formula of [G06F12/10 AND <19931102], 2269 hits were generated.
Judging from the limitations of the 2 independent claims of '750, it is our impresssion that the likelihood of finding pertinent Japanese, Chinese or other Asian language prior art is low to medium.
